I remember a conversation during one of the First Friday Street Meets in the Northeast Neighborhood in York City.

Someone told me, “I don’t go downtown because there’s nothing there for me.

And any money I spend isn’t coming back to my neighborhood.”

They didn’t say it with frustration. It was just how they saw it.

That conversation stayed with me.

Over time, I started to realize this wasn’t just about one place or one person. A lot of what we build doesn’t connect. Participation happens—but it doesn’t lead anywhere. That’s what we’ve been working on changing.

If you’ve been following along and something connected, this is the simplest place to start.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just let us know what caught your attention, and we’ll follow up from there.

What this connects to

* Youth cohort (this summer)

* Spanish experience (June 10)

* Neighborhood development & ownership

* Helping build this

This isn’t finished.

It’s something we’re building—and we’re starting to invite people into it.
